When you have gum disease (pyorrhea), you
may notice your gums bleed when you brush. Often, there is a bad
taste in your mouth. You may suspect (or friends will tell you)
you have bad breath.
Pyorrhea starts at the edge where the
gums and the teeth come together. As it spreads, the germs sort of
‘chew” into the gums and bone and cause holes. The holes get
deeper and deeper until you lose teeth.
Many dentists treat this condition with
surgery. That's one way to do it, but if it was my mouth, I would
do anything I could to avoid surgery!
SOME SIMPLE WAYS YOU CAN STOP YOUR GUMS
FROM BLEEDING, ITCHING AND HURTING
Buy an ELECTRIC POWERED TOOTHBRUSH. My
own, personal choice is the SONICARE brush. The one with the 2
minute timer. It is also quite effective against staining, but
rather expensive. We sell this brush in the office at cost.
Here's how to use it: Turn it on and hold
it right where the gums and teeth come together. You don't "brush"
with it like a regular brush. You just move it from tooth to tooth
until it has beeped 4 times. Use it with a light touch. Nothing
else will get your gums into shape easier or faster than the
electric brush.
NUMBER TWO SUGGESTION
Pyorrhea is worst when the acid content
of the mouth and saliva is high. So another simple thing you can
do is start cutting down on things that create acids in your
mouth: anything with sugar, like candy, gum, soda pop, cough drops
or breath mints.
THIRD "EASY THING TO DO"
Start using baking soda (without hydrogen
peroxide) instead of regular toothpaste. Baking soda makes the
mouth and saliva more alkaline, the opposite of acidy.
To get the most out of this, mix 6 parts
baking soda to 1 part Sea Salt (available at any good health food
store). Place this in a blender and mix for 30 seconds, then put
in a container. To use, wet the tip of your index finger and place
a SMALL amount of the salt and soda mixture on our gums. Spit out
the excess.
After 15 minutes, rinse your mouth with
water and spit out. This mixture is incredibly effective at
killing the germs and parasites that cause plaque.
CAN VITAMINS HELP?
Yes. To heal the pyorrhea and help new
gums to grow, start taking some Vitamin C. Aim for about 3000mg
per day. Start with 500 mg in the morning and another 500 mg at
night. Increase slowly over the next number of weeks, working up
to a higher intake over a period of a few months. If you go too
fast, you'll have a lot of gas and even diarrhea. Get a complexed
or esterified Vitamin C (not plain ascorbic acid); it will cut
down on "gassiness".
WHAT TO DO IF YOU'VE WAITED TOO LONG?
Simplest solution is not to cut, but to
clean all that "gunk" out, and let the body fill in the holes with
new gum and bone! You will need a dentist to help you.
And because we live in a chemically
polluted world, eat too much of the wrong foods, and have to deal
with excessive stress, our bodies can use some additional help to
do this healing. This is where plants, herbs and homeopathy are
most effective.
ANCIENT WISDOM AND LATEST TECHNIQUES
I have studied in China. They don’t worry
about germs. To them, how healthy you are is determined by your
Vital Life Force or "Chi".
The more Life Force you have, the
healthier you will be. Anything that strengthens your energy or
Life Force improves your health and your body's immune defense
capabilities as well.
Natural remedies and herbs can
dramatically increase your own body's energy and abilities for
repair. Result: better healing with less treatment- and less cost.
And no negative side effects. They only prevent infection, promote
healing, and strengthen your immune system without drugs.
If you want to avoid surgery, reduce the
chances of losing teeth, eliminate the possibility of drug
reactions, and keep the costs down, then getting rid of the cause
of your disease, and using natural methods to help healing is
absolutely the best way to go.
