Writing in The New York Times recently, William Safire did an interesting piece concerning our ability to protect ourselves against the bio-terror attack to come one day. He said, “The ultimate answer in person self-defense – arming the human immune system with the power to recognize, attack and defeat any germ or virus that a bio-terrorist can create.”

He went on to describe how current stem cell research may, some day, give us answers to this problem. But what about right now?

Many scientists and doctors agree with Rob Robertson, MD, who says, “Nearly everything that goes wrong with us, with the exception of trauma – like broken bones etc., can be traced directly to an immune system failure.”

What’s a person to do?

IMMUNITY “101”

The main job of keeping us healthy is handled by our immune system. To do its job properly, the immune system must do three very important things each time your body comes in contact with a germ (bacteria, virus):

First, it must recognize the germ as a threat to the body; second, it must then attack and kill off the threat; and third, it must remember that germ so that your body can rid itself quickly of it the next time it is attacked.

As you get older, your immunity system gets tired. It doesn’t protect you as well as it did when you were young. Also, if you are overwhelmed with germs, your immune system will not be able to protect you, no matter what your age. You get sick.

THE MILK OF HUMAN KINDNESS

When a mother nurses her newborn child, her first milk, known as colostrum, contains immunity “transfer factors”, tiny particles of genetic data that are collected from the mother’s own immune system. These are passed onto her baby to give it protection from infection and disease until it can develop an immune system of its own.

Fine if you are a nursing infant, but this poses problems for adults!

Humor aside, the point is that it is possible to create an immune system- or strengthen one that already exists- if you can find a biocompatible material containing these transfer factors.

ENTER TECHNOLOGY

A number of companies have developed processes through which they are able to collect transfer factor molecules from a cow’s first milk. These are dried, ten put into capsules. You can take these with the same assurance of safety as the regular milk you drink or put into your coffee every day.

Commercially produced transfer factors have been used to treat viral, fungal, and parasitic diseases, malignancies, as well as certain neurologic and autoimmune conditions. Again- these are safe and effective for men, women and children of any age.

YEAH, BUT WHOSE?

Whose, indeed. There are a “slew” of companies producing transfer factors, and everyone of them claims to be the best, the most effective, and the most (put in your own words). I have spent a good bit of time researching this and found a manufacturer I think has to correct processes and who markets and effective product.

Know first that this company, 4Life, is a multilevel seller. For you to order any product from them, you must give them a distributor’s number. SO I became a distributor. This means I get a few pennies from every bottle bought by someone who orders, using my distributor number.

I don’t want you to think, “Ah ha. That’s why he wants me to get this stuff”. No way. I recommend it because it works! I will donate whatever money comes in to charity.

It is pricey, about $55.00 for a month’s supply, and it is something you should plan to take indefinitely- at least until stem cell research can come up with the perfect system envisioned by William Safire. But for now, it is the best thing out there. Between Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus, I prefer the slightly more expensive Plus. It seems to give better clinical results.
